Hirschvogel: As near or as far as you wish

Strategy developer, growth driver, trendsetter. Hirschvogel Holding GmbH in Denklingen is where the various strands of the Hirschvogel Group and its numerous sites come together. This forms the central point from where we set the course for shaping and further developing the Group, both at home and abroad – in close collaboration with the plants, to whom we provide advice and whose ideas we take up. Our strength lies in our ability to always see the big picture and to look far into the future, doing everything we can to exploit synergies, increase efficiency and standardize processes. What this means for you is that any ideas and initiatives that you develop in the team of our holding company will soon be found in Hirschvogel plants all over the world.

There, where Bavaria is at its most beautiful and sunniest, you will find more than 2,000 creative thinkers and doers, all of whom roll up their sleeves every day to get 1,000 tons of steel into shape. Why do we love Denklingen near Landsberg so much? Because it’s our home. The lead plant of the Hirschvogel Group is located here, which is also the largest production facility and central development center of the Group for steel forging. Around 650,000 forged and extruded parts find their way from here to our customers every day. And each one of these parts presents itself in top form thanks to the forging processes developed and employed in Denklingen. In top form – just like the people at Hirschvogel.

With precision and perfection from the forged part to the machined, ready-for-assembly product – that is the path taken by Hirschvogel Komponenten GmbH in Schongau. The pillars of the company’s success are formed by the 850 or so employees who put the finishing touches to the complex forged raw parts from the Hirschvogel plants – with state-of-the-art finishing lines and an impressive level of automation and digitalization. Here, in the central development center of the Hirschvogel Group for the machining of forged parts and functional assemblies, our finger is on the pulse of time. All the while, our sights are always set on the future, on individual customer requirements and, of course, on the panorama afforded by the impressive mountains of Bavaria.

Some like it hot. Others freshly pressed. In Marksuhl, everyone gets their fill. After all, it is here – in the immediate vicinity of Eisenach at the foot of the Thuringian Forest and in the midst of a fascinating cultural and natural region – that both the steel forge of Hirschvogel Eisenach GmbH as well as the aluminum competence center of the Hirschvogel Group is located. In Marksuhl, around 700 employees are committed to the future of the automotive industry, manufacturing sophisticated chassis components for renowned automotive manufacturers and the supply industry. Bright prospects, therefore, for all those who want to present themselves and their steel and aluminum products in top form.

The automotive market on the Indian peninsula is growing at a rapid pace. This is associated with an enormous demand for supplier parts. At Hirschvogel Components India in Sanaswadi near Pune, around 450 employees produce forged and machined components. This enables us to meet the individual requirements of our Indian partners quickly and flexibly.

At the end of 2009, a joint venture was established with the Japanese automotive supplier Kotani Corporation. In mid-2011, Hirschvogel Holding GmbH took over the remaining shares of its joint venture partner. Hirschvogel Components Poland, the 100% subsidiary that resulted from this, has over 250 employees and manufactures mainly warm and warm/cold forged products, including machining.

Asia, referred to in the past as a “future market”, has long since become established in the present. And so, looking back, our instinct to produce and machine hot, warm and cold forged parts for our customers in China directly on site in Pinghu near Shanghai from as early as 2006 onwards proved to be well founded. Today, with around 950 employees, Hirschvogel Automotive Components is an important partner to the automotive industry in Asia.

In 1988, we established our foothold in the USA in Columbus/Ohio. At the Hirschvogel Incorporated plant, more than 300 employees manufacture cold and warm forged parts. A number of forgings are also machined to render them ready for assembly.

At the end of 2017, we opened our plant in Mexico. This was an important step for Hirschvogel in its efforts to achieve local supply to customers in the automotive industry worldwide, representing another building block in our growth strategy and enabling us to further expand our global presence. At the site in San Juan del Río, the 350 or so Hirschvogel employees at Hirschvogel Components Mexico produce forged and machined components.
